Add Bambu Labs Spools using NFC tags from phone without having to put spool in AMS#851

I would like to read Bambu Lab spools directly from my phone.
I defeats the purpose of having a filament management system if i can’t add stock to my inventory if I have to open each package and insert into my AMS and then remove it in order to add more inventory.

Other apps like “Spool Scanner” and “SpoolTap” I found on Google Play can read Bambu Labs NFC tags entire contents without issue. I didn’t see any readily apparent way to link them to Simply Print.

Maybe integrate some of the other apps as a work around if you can’t incorporate this directly into the Simply Print App due to some legal or technical issues.

I’m afraid the Bambu Lab native NFC tags are not open. They’re encrypted and we cannot simply decrypt them. If we could, it probably wouldn’t be legal. You can’t tap them with your phone. All we can get from them are the IDs.

When they’re already connected, they’re already created in SimplyPrint, and they have a relation to the spool, then we can do it but until then we cannot.

In other cases we can tap the NFC tag (that would be for Creality, Anycubic, and other schools like that), but not for Bambu Lab unfortunately. What you can do is scan the barcode on the box. That way we can identify what product it is and then you can create it easily and assign the NFC tag as step 2.

We wish we could make it a one-click experience and make it easier for you but it’s simply not possible.
