Custom Fields for Sliced Files Only#837

I’d like to suggest a feature that could help our workflow, and also check if it’s already possible and I’ve just missed it. At the moment, custom fields can be added to Print Queue, Print Job and User File. But User File applies to every file type, not just sliced manufacturing files, our workflow is to upload each designed part individually, with every part having its own internal part number.

We then generate a sliced 3MF or G-code file, which often includes multiple different parts on a single print bed, each with its own part number. The challenge is there’s currently no easy way to identify which internal part numbers are included in a particular sliced file. It would be great if there were a custom field subcategory, for example “sliced file”, that applies only to 3MF and G-code, so we could attach fields like internal part numbers, material, or slicer settings without cluttering CAD files.

If there’s already a way to do this in SimplyPrint, I’d really appreciate any guidance. If not, I think this would be a valuable addition for users printing multiple parts in a single build and happy to move this into the suggestion feature request box.
