API access for Free and Basic tiers#816
I only have a single printer, and use it intermittently, but I like that I can leverage the API to update my spool/filament library and have created some automation at home to report updated weights to the system.
Unfortunately paying for the Pro tier month over month isn’t worth it to me for this feature.. although it saves me a few seconds (and it’s kinda cool to update the system directly), I’m looking at canceling my subscription.
If there was a Lite tier that took the Free options and added API support for $2/month or something I would happy to step into something like that, but $10/month ($120/year) for a few API calls per month isn’t worthwhile in my scenario.
I’m afraid that is not on the table at the moment - the rules for our suggestion box state, due to the flood of wishes that we make everything free or cheap(er), that we wish to keep the suggestion box a place for suggestions about improvements that aren’t about moving features to lower plans.
We appreciate the interest in our platform, and know that we have a bunch of cool features that would be awesome to use on lower plans, but we cannot appease everyone (and still afford to pay rent, or have a coherent platform that isn’t a “mix your own bag”-chaos).
