Details: The current process of adding a file to the print queue has major friction points across platforms:
The App Issue: It currently bypasses printer and filament selection entirely, instantly dropping the file into the active queue. This forces users to “panic-edit” the queue item before an auto-printer grabs it and starts printing on the wrong machine.
The Web Issue: While the web correctly asks for printer allocation before queuing, specifying a color is clunky. Forcing users to click through “add/adjust tag” and then “material details” requires too many clicks for a high-volume farm.
The Fix: Create a unified “Queue Confirmation” pop-up for both the App and Web that appears before the file goes live. This single screen should require target Printer selection AND feature top-level, immediate shortcuts/dropdowns for “Material Type” and “Color.”
Benefit: This stops the panic-inducing instant queues on the app, achieves feature parity, completely removes the need to maintain duplicate files for different colors, and drastically reduces the number of clicks needed to queue a specific color on the web.
