Allow us to add notes when we queue items to print. A good usage example of this is I sell a product in multiple colors the customer can chose from. I have the file pre-sliced, and when I put it into queue I’d like to be able to note what color that print needs to be

We already have a feature for notes on queue items (note icon next to name), but otherwise custom fields can also be used to encode more structured information. For single pre-defined colors we recommend using our “Material Tags”, but if you have a list of colours then a custom field can express this quite nicely and visibly, as notes can be a bit hidden by default.

Then I guess this would be a quality of life enhancement: go to files, find a sliced file, click on it and click add to queue, and no way to add notes in that view. Sometimes it’s more than 1 color so freeform notes is required (bottom in orange, top in red, and they’re already mapped to 2 filament slots so I just have to assign the colors to the right slot numbers)

I’ve taken the liberty to reframe this suggestion to add the notes input field for the Add to queue popup, not a bad idea at all.

Awesome, I appreciate the reframe! Adding it to the Add Item to Queue API endpoint would be appreciated as well, that’s where I was first looking to integrate them gave up and hit up the WebUI to do it manually

The Queue Notes are helpful for leaving quick notes to my student assistants that runs the printer queue - instead of cluttering space with a Notes field that may not be needed for every print. Is there a way to make this field more visible? Change to bright red or something? for now it just becomes black instead of dark grey when a note is added, which is easily overlooked. Thanks
