Add compatibility with the Orange Pi series. The hardware far exceeds the required specs. If it is supported as an ARM device, please add it to the supported devices section, or update the Raspberry Pi setup section to be Raspberry Pi / Orange Pi.

Hi there :) for which setup? The OctoPrint-powered Raspberry Pi Image or the Bambu Lab Client?
For the Bambu Lab integration

@Quizletalexohoh the regular Linux CLI install probably works fine. Do you have an Orange Pi and are able to test?
So should I use the default Orange Pi OS, or do you suggest another one?
I am planning to buy an Orange Pi 5 Max

@Quizletalexohoh we talked about it internally, and almost hit the trigger on buying a selection of Orange Pi’s - but… For now, the demand with our customers just isn’t there to warrant us spending much time on specific integrations and setup instructions for the Orange Pi.
Our take - at least for now; we welcome anyone to challenge it - is that the buyers of the Orange Pi are more techincal users (as they don’t seem to be much cheaper or easier to come by than a regular Raspberry Pi, at least most places), most users of this device will know to / want to use the “Linux setup”; as the thing is, we do seem to “support” the Orange Pi, just like we support Acer computers and HP computers; because they run an OS that we support.
So, unless we’re wrong, you should be able to follow the Linux setup guide for the Orange Pi; https://simplyprint.io/setup-guide#bambu:1-linux
What we could perhaps do, is mention the Orange Pi somewhere, as it is one of the more known Raspberry Pi alternatives on the market - this way we can funnel users to the right guide.
Let me know your thoughts and whether you’ve already tried to use the Linux guide, and possibly why you’ve gone with the Orange Pi in the first place; curious to know! :)
I chose the Orange Pi mainly because I was intending to use it for intense compute (e.g. AI), but I was thinking I could run the client simultaneously. One question though, is there a particular Linux distro that would be most beneficial towards the client? (Arch, Debian, Ubuntu)

@Quizletalexohoh I’ll let my colleagues know they were 100% right in their “what do people use Orange Pi’s for” guesses then! ;)
All 3 mentioned distro’s work - as long as it supports systemd, as the setup guide lists as the only real requirement.
Could you add the Orange Pi as a supported / recommended device on the wiki? Thanks for the support :)

If you test it out and it works, let us know which OS and setup you used and we’ll gladly add it as a possible option once confirmed.
It works with the Pi 5 Ultra and Ubuntu (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PEPMrRo3lSCkmReVZEgqac3xrzWqOGcn/view?usp=drive_link). I’m considering just hooking the Pi up to a TV and just using it as a huge display for my printers
Camera stream, movement and starting prints all work with the local IP client. It only uses around 3% of the CPU and maybe 100MB of RAM? Take these estimates with a grain of salt, I can’t seem to find the process in Task Manager
