I run a small library Makerspace with two Bambu X-1 Carbon Combo AMS printers. Users do not start their own prints but submit them to the print queue until an assistant is available to actually start them, after loading the desired filament. I’ve recently started using material tags for designating print colors. But I fear that users have too many choices. The default color platte has something like three different shades of green and four blues. I want to be able to restrict the colors that show up there to the filament choices that I actualy have (about 15 basic colors). I was able to create custom colors and names, which was great, but the defaults still showed up as choices. Ideally only colors and names that I have set up in the Filament panel will ever be available to select.
Hi there @Nazmaker :) Are the colors you use all from a certain brand? E.g. Bambu Lab’s “PLA Basic” line?
This is not a bad idea - restricting color-selection for user groups.
Or the ability to restrict collor just to loaded collors
Hi @Albert Møller Nielsen . Yes, actually. For the most part I only offer Bambu Basic PLA. I have a backlog of a few colors other filament, but only having one brand to select would be fine.
