Filament Inventory tracking By Material and color only (No spool management)#361

Filament Inventory tracking By Material and color only instead of having to deal with the spool to assign in simply print everytime we change a spool.

I’m curious to hear more; how do you imagine this working? How would we know how much material and which colors you have left, if you don’t create the spool? Or would you just want a manual “+” & “-“ version, where you keep track of it like in an excel sheet, but inside SimplyPrint?

I’m Imagining this way :
I can do a manual inventory of My filament, for example, at a given date (13/03/2025) I have in stock : Black PETG 100kg, White PETG 50 kg, etc.
I said that in the filament tab in SimplyPrint by adding the material I use, the price, everything, and the total stock I have of this filament. Every time I launch a print with simply print, he knows the print weight, and decrement it of my Black PETG stock, instead of decrementing it of one spool, it decrement directly the total stock of this material and color.

This way, when I need to know how much filament left I have, I can look into the filament Tab how much filament I have left for every material color I have. We could even add a level of alert for each material color to send a message to us telling us to re order filament.

Is it clear or am I missing something ?
