Hello, I looked at your plans and realized that none of the payment options would do anything for me.
I am a hobby user. I have a printer and no plans to purchase more in the future. So anything with more printers makes no sense to me.
The same applies to the online slicer. There is no need for this in my process. So all the improvements are not for me, I am satisfied with Orcaslicer and the integration is good.
So the Basic plan offers no added value for me.
On the one hand, the Pro plan has the print queue, which would be nice to have. And the statistics, which are certainly not worth looking at and which I would also like to have. However, 9.99 a month is too much for me.
The enhanced print cost calculations are also definitely a nice thing (save the extra calculation sheet). but no must have for me.
My main reason to use Simplyprint is the filament management. Which I don’t want to miss anymore.
I would like to support the project. But would also like to get some benefit from the subscription.
Therefore an extended plan for 1 printer, with statistics and printcost calculation is a nice thing.
I think that several hobby users feel the same way.
We have just reworked our pricing. It doesn’t address necessarily directly what you’re saying here, but in our shoes, with so many features and so many different segments of users (hobbyists, print farm, enterprise, schools, military, governments, all of it), it’s hard to create a one-size-fits-all. What we’ve tried to do is take the general feedback that is “I can’t find a plan that suits my needs, fits my needs,” and we know that, as a big platform, some want, in this case, your statistics. Others want “I just want all the filament features. I don’t want extra printers, and I don’t need AutoPrint. I don’t need all of these things.” Some just come to SimplyPrint for the slicer, and upon finding SimplyPrint, may not even know that we do anything else other than slicing.
Today we’ve launched three new plans:
- The Cloud Slicer Plan, which gives access to all cloud slicer features
- The Pro Plan, which includes AutoPrint in a limited fashion
- The $9.99 Plan, which addresses, based on the feedback, those who just upgraded to the Basic Plan for unlimited cloud slicing and didn’t actually want the extra printer or anything else that came with it
