Can an export feature be added for the print history and statistics as a csv/xlsx file? Very important for reporting especially with print farms!
This has been requested quite a bit now - so, we’re adding it as a feature for our “Print Farm” plan 🙌
@Ernest John Escanilla if you have any suggestions as to how we should shape it, now’s the time :)
We’re thinking a simple “Export” button for statistics and print jobs, that exports for the time period you haev chosen (probably with a max of X rows)
Similar to mainsail, it’s quite a simple request but if we can also have a feature to filter out a specific time span or a specific printer, that would be better! Also the charts are very useful in visualization ; if they can be exported as well, i think it would be awesome.
Also, this is a different feature request and also I have not tried it within simplyprint but are there any query prompts if we decide to abort the print so we can indicate the reason of the abort and it will also be properly documented in the print history?
I have experiences with the Ultimaker and formlabs printing softwares and one thing I also liked is the implementation of the a gant chart timeline for prints as it let’s us visualize the overall timeline of the farm. Is this feature possible in the future as well?
A bit of a background for me, I am EJ Escanilla, Production Technology Manager of Instalimb Solutions Philippines Inc — A Japanese startup based in the Philippines focused on providing low cost prosthetics for everyone. We mainly focus on Lower Leg prosthesis, and our farm consists of various custom printers for this specific purpose.
As our farm is mostly on klipper+mainsail, I have looked far and wide for print farm management software and I found Simplyprint and decided to try it as the integration was quite straightforward and easy (although my trial period is up i think haha). Currently we have 12 printers which are a mix of creatbot, creality, ratrig and a voron clone as well.
The reason for the suggestions is I see simplyprint having great potential in its development, especially with your focus on klipper, that is why I also want it to succeed so I want to see more and more features be implemented as well!
Thanks for the extra feedback, EJ! 🙌
In SimplyPrint you can indeed require (or have it optional) that a user should specify a reason for stopping a print. A list of ~7 listed standard reasons is listed, and a comment field is shown. The cancel reason is documented in the print history.
Using the settings, you can tailor the prompts to your needs.
We’re probably looking at just exporting a comma-separated CSV file of the data in this first round, but it’s always been the hope to be able to provide weekly, monthly, quaterly, semi-yearly and yearly reports on the state of your print farm, with chart images attached - so it’s possible in the future! (especially if it gets more in-demand and multiple print farms want it).
Glad you like the platform and see potential! Welcome to the SimplyPrint family :)
What else to do on a weekend but add new features! 🙌
This feature is right around the corner, with release sometime early next(/this, depending on where you are) week!
